So I finally decided what exactly to do with this blog of mine, I know it has taken me long enough! This blog is going to be the place where I showcase my own artistic portfolio. My reasoning for this actually is really quite simple. I created this profile to express myself and what better way to do this than give the viewer/reader a first hand experience of how I express myself on a daily basis. That being said, I can move on and tell you about my first piece.
I recently finished a piece that I am rather proud of. This piece is actually a self portrait, which is actually titled Self Portrait 1 believe it or not. What better piece could I possibly use for my first post? I spent, roughly, about 30 hours to finish this warlock. I can honestly say that I am satisfied with the final result. I like to joke about the idea of the disturbed artist that is always depicted throughout history, but oddly enough I am probably becoming just that.
This past year I have been through quite a roller coaster of emotional garbage and finally I decided that enough was enough. I was fed up with what my life had become, I was an absolute mess. So I decided that I needed to get back to the basics in my life, which for me are painting, running, and skateboarding. I find it funny that once I made this decision, everything in my life started to improve as well. Painting has, yet again, become one of the most therapeutic things that I do with my day. My stress level is once again in the negatives and my life could not be any better. I will hopefully try and put up a new piece every week, seeing as it is my goal to try and finish a new piece every week. Next time I will write more about the piece itself, but I figured this one kind of speaks for itself. Enjoy
